Group of Fairway employees at an AWI event with two dogs and a large checkA Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Baltimore, Maryland area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor two local veterans. As part of this event, the Fairway branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.

The first honoree at the event was a local Army veteran who was given a service dog from Warrior Canine Connection. In addition to a service dog, this deserving veteran was awarded a family grant of $10,000. A local Vietnam veteran in attendance was also recognized.

Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.

I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.
